Activities Calendar
CIPLC strives to build community through events designed for participation by students, parents, teachers, staff and board members. We encourage everyone to attend! Check the school Calendar for dates of upcoming events!
Parranda Navideña
Begin the year with friendly competition celebrating our Venezuelan roots! Teams of students, parents and/or staff make their best arepa recipe. Judges look for the tastiest, spiciest, and most creative winners. Everyone gets to try and enjoy in the festivities. Occurs in the first month of school each year.
Gecko Fun Night
Dress up for fun or fright! Costumes, haunted house, games and food make the Fall Carnival a fantastic celebration.
This event occurs around Halloween each year.
Global Play Day
Like the rest of South America, the Carnival celebration is a big hit. Classroom teams create carnival games or activities. Participants try their hand at the different games for a chance to win prizes or notoriety. There is almost always a teacher or principal to dunk in water or smash with a pie! Funds raised benefit the Parent-Teacher Organization and their contributions to school community. Occurs in near the beginning of second semester each year.
International Day
A truly cultural learning experience, this is our biggest event of the year. Each grade level sponsors a different country of their choosing. Students learn about the traditions, history, music and food of their country. The celebration includes performances, food tasting, and a tour of all the countries present. Occurs during fourth quarter each school year.
Easter Egg Hunt
Sponsored by our Parent-Teacher Organization, this event draws participation from Early Childhood and Elementary students. Easter eggs are hidden around campus and students released in a race to find them! This family event occurs near the Easter Holiday each school year.
