Work at CIPLC
Colegio International Puerto La Cruz (CIPLC), was established in 1997 and has been accredited by Cognia/AdvancED for over 25 years. We serve a multinational population of just over 100 students from Pre-School (3 year olds) through Grade 12. Class sizes average between 10-15 students, and the school provides a wide range of curricular and co-curricular programs. The campus is situated in the Puerto La Cruz/Barcelona area on the Caribbean coast, a location known throughout Venezuela as one of the top water-sport, beach, and vacation destinations in the country.
CIPLC’s unique location, highly competitive pay scale (one of the highest in the AMISA region) and opportunities for professional development make it one of the top choices for international educators in South America. Wake up to the sunrise over the ocean each morning and have the chance to work with a talented, collaborative, and committed group of educators. CIPLC offers an array of professional development opportunities on campus, and a variety of activities are planned throughout the year. Teacher Qualifications
CIPLC is an excellent place to live, teach, and learn. We place a premium on finding teachers who have intellectual curiosity, the ability to relate positively to others in the school community, and the commitment to teach and learn from other teachers and students. Teachers must hold a college degree, preferably in the field they will teach, and must have a valid national-, provincial-, or state- teaching certification. Successful candidates usually have at least four years of teaching experience and a Masters Degree. Faculty members are expected to help continually develop the curriculum of the school, stay current in their teaching practices, and sponsor after-school activities.

School Calendar
The school year usually begins in early August and ends at the beginning of June. Holidays typically include a week in October, a long weekend in November, a three-week winter vacation, and week-long breaks for Carnival and Semana Santa. Many teachers use these breaks to rest and relax close to home, and others travel throughout Venezuela or to other parts of South America during these times.
